Nothing without Joy – Loris Malaguzzi
September 26, 2016
We made it through the first three weeks of the school year!! Children and families have adjusted to the “school” schedule, and often the only crying we hear in the hallways is from those children who just don’t want to go home yet. There are so many important things happening over the next few weeks that we wanted to make sure that everyone is aware of. Moving forward we will try to keep to our every two week communication schedule.
- Picture Day(s). Kirk Shepard from Kirk Shepard Photography will be onsite on Wednesday to take school pictures. Every child will have their photo taken in order to be in the class composite, but only those who submit a paid order will receive photos. Checks can be made out to Porchlight Pictures. Please note that school staff will not be able to make change, please have exact change ready in the envelopes that came home on Monday.
The picture day schedule is as follows:
o Wednesday, September 28th – 202, 203, 204, 205 & 206
If your child is absent you are welcome to bring them to the 113th street location on
Thursday or Friday to have their picture taken. The address is 2554 W. 113th St.
Hours – 9:00am – 3:00pm.
- Scholastic Book Fair!!! Is there anything better than cracking open a new book? We don’t think soJ Scholastic Book Fairs are one of the best ways to get books into children’s (& adult’s) hands. This year we are having an online book fair. The online fair will be open from Monday, September 26th through Sunday, October 16th. The online fair can be accessed from the following link: http://www.scholastic.com/bf/barbaravickearlychildctr
