The Vick Center offers a wide range of opportunities for family involvement. The Parent Coordinator, classroom teachers, and the Parent Teacher Together Organization (PTT) offer social and educational programs throughout the school year. In addition, the Parent Room will be open throughout the first week of school for families to talk and receive support as your child moves into this most important phase of their development – SCHOOL!!! Coffee, conversation, and a place to wait close at hand will be available throughout the first weeks of school.

Some of the parent program offerings are:
- The Parent Coordinator offers Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) classes multiple times throughout the school year at a variety of times sure to fit every family’s schedule.
- Toddler time once a week for those children birth – age 3 and their parent/caregiver. This offers an opportunity to expose our younger children to the concept of “school” with the security of their loved one close by.
- Workshops/Meetings centered around topics that have been identified through the Parent Needs Survey that is completed each year.
- Parent Volunteer program – multiple opportunities for volunteering both within your child’s classroom and within the school as a whole, such as the annual Scholastic bookfair, Room Parent(s), School-wide improvement/clean-up events.

The classrooms will host three Parent-Child activity days throughout the school year. This time is a wonderful opportunity for adult and child to have some quality time to work together on an activity. These days follow the same schedule as the Parent Orientation day in August with parents coming with their Vick child for one hour. Siblings should remain at home. The dates will be October 11th, February 14th and May 16th. Mark your calendars as these days are always wonderful days of learning and sharing.

Please visit this page often for updates regarding the parent program and the opportunities that will be available throughout the school year.
